Expertise
Rob Grimes is the Founder, President and CEO of Accuvia Consulting and its affiliated companies; Hostec Events and Accuvia Publishing. He is responsible for providing high-level strategic services for Accuvia's clients as well as setting the overall direction of the company. Additionally, Rob is also considered a leading futurist and commentator on the emerging and growth technologies that face the foodservice, retail and hospitality industries.
Relevant Experience
Clients include technology suppliers, operators of all sizes within the retail, hospitality and foodservice industries, financial analysts, legal firms representing the industries, trade associations and colleges and universities with programs in HR&IM management. Rob is a regular columnist for Nation's Restaurant News and has spoken at over 500 industry conferences, seminars, tradeshows, briefings, and updates around the world. Rob has also served on the Board of the National Restaurant Association, and is the incoming Chair of the NRA's MIS Study Group. Rob is the founder of FS/TEC, the foodservice industry's technology tradeshow and conference, Hostec in Europe and Asia and also the co-founder of the original magazine that is now known as Hospitality Upgrade.
Professional Background
Rob has worked for over 25 years in the retail, foodservice and hospitality industries starting in operations and then developing an entrepreneurial career in technology services for the industries. Prior to founding Cyntergy which later spun off CynterCon, the predecessor to Accuvia Consulting, Rob worked for Holiday Inn and then Marriott in their divisions of Roy Rogers, Bob's Big Boy, Marriott Hotels and then in the corporate headquarters of Marriott where he developed the Distributed Systems Group to support the various in-store systems used by Marriott's various retail, hospitality and foodservice divisions. Rob serves on the Board of the HR&IM programs at Penn State, the University of Delaware and UNLV.
