Career Opportunities - Consultant - Hospitality
Accuvia is an international technology company supporting the hospitality, foodservice and retail industries in the areas of consulting, publishing and events. Over the past several years, Accuvia has experienced significant growth, particularly in its Consulting business. We are looking for a full-time Consultant with a confirmed interest in hospitality and/or foodservice technology working either in our headquarters office in Potomac, MD or, with prior approval, from a home office located elsewhere in the country. The Consultant will be responsible for analyzing clients’ businesses, identifying solutions, coordinating resources as needed, and presenting our findings in support of consulting engagements/projects. The Consultant must be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, normally in an independent manner, in order to exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate will have solid communication, writing, and research skills and have a strong desire to work in fast-growing, entrepreneurial company environment.
Job Description:
- Responsible for fulfilling all aspects of assigned projects
- Through various processes including in-person interviews, on-line research, and other types of research including quantitative and qualitative research, conducts analyses and identify causes and solutions to various issues
- As necessary, educate and explain salient points
- Facilitate discussions and focus groups
- Be familiar with the various system providers, applications, and other solutions in the industry that might be useful to clients
- Be aware of leading industry trends
- Assist in preparing draft requests for proposals, project quotes, and contracts
- When appropriate coordinate and /or manage other Accuvia resources
- Provide written reports supporting the projects, including documentation of the findings, analysis, recommendations, and suggested action steps
- Consultants travel to clients sites and other appropriate locations on a regular basis
- Consultants are also asked to assist with business development activities such as participation in industry trade shows and events
- Some weekend and after-hours work will be required
Skills Required:
- Operational knowledge of at least one of the following industries: foodservice, lodging, specialty retail
- Aptitude with MS Project is desirable
- PMI certification in Project Management or other strong project management credentials is highly desirable; some project management experience is required
- Strong quantitative skills
- Well developed client relationship management skills
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills; ability to scope and frame issues
- Experience in delivering a syndicated research agenda
- A strong disseminator of information in a variety of settings
- Strong quantitative analytical ability and problem solving skills
- Exceptional project management skills and ability to meet tight timelines and budgets
- Very proficient with Microsoft Office programs
- Familiarity with web development
- Ability to present information to groups in a professional manner
Experience Requirements:
- 4 year college degree
- 2 years experience in the lodging, foodservice, and/or retail industries
- Microsoft Office products and web development applications
- 1 year managing projects using some type of project methodology
