Career Opportunities - Business Analyst

Accuvia is an international technology company supporting the hospitality, foodservice, and retail industries in the areas of consulting, publishing, and events. Accuvia is seeking a full-time business/research analyst with a confirmed interested in hospitality and/or foodservice technology and consulting that will work in our headquarters office in Potomac, Maryland. The Business Analyst will provide market research and analysis for a variety of consulting engagements and projects. The Analyst must be able to effective collect and analyze industry data and trends and work efficiently within project time frames. The Analyst will also provide support to the publishing and events businesses as well as providing some general administrative support. The ideal candidate will have solid communication and research skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong desire to work in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company environment.

Job Description:

• Participate on project teams and fulfill assigned tasks
• Provide support for various consulting projects/engagements which can include:
  • Provide original market research and analysis
  • Provide high quality data and deliverables through market publications and web research
  • Develop market presence strategies and other ad hoc reports
  • Develop use cases, document best practices, and create other project deliverables as identified
• Assist in preparing requests for proposals, project quotations, and contracts
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to identify and analyze industry trends (products and services.)
• Be familiar with the various system providers, applications, and other solutions in the industry that might be useful to clients
• Be aware of leading industry trends
• Assist with marketing and administrative duties for other Accuvia departments, particularly in preparation for various Hostec Events.
• Participate in various projects supporting all three business units, (i.e. web updates, database work, and data collection.)

• Operational knowledge of the lodging industry
• Well developed client relationship management skills
• Exceptional writing and presentation skills; ability to scope and frame issues
• A strong disseminator of information in a variety of settings
• Strong quantitative analytical ability and problem solving skills
• Exceptional project management skills and ability to meet tight timelines and budgets
• Ability to present information to groups in a professional manner

Experience Requirements:

• 4 year college degree
• 2 years experience in the lodging industry
• Project management experience is advantageous
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, knowledge of web applications is a plus
• Will require some travel
